Pets add such joy to our lives. They keep reminding us of what is important; passion, exuberance, companionship, being faithful through the tough times. They ask for very little; food, companionship, a warm and cozy bed and, of course, lots of belly rubs. But they give so much back. They jump into each day with such joy and enthusiasm. And when they get old or sick, they bear their discomfort with such grace.
My pet photography has received several awards. I received 3rd place in the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops contest in 2010. The subject was Family, but I managed to include two dogs in my 3rd place photo, my cousin’s chocolate Lab, “Harry” (named after Harry Potter), and my English Cocker, “Bugs. ” My photograph of Olive, the rescue Great Dane, won 2nd place in the 002Houston magazine cover contest in December 2010. And a platinum palladium print of one of the DAS shelter dogs was accepted in the juried competition held by the Texas Photographic Society’s Alternative Processes Competition in 2015, juror was Christopher James.
I would love to take pictures of your pets and capture their wonderful uniqueness and how they add such joy to your lives! Rosie, my English Cocker, says, “Yea! Let’s do it!”
