Montestigliano is a Eco-friendly farm and they are proud of their efforts and partnerships with EU’s environmental division which includes their eco-friendly farming of their still vibrant Olive Groves and their efforts to revitalize Cypress trees throughout Europe. If you aren’t exploring the Tuscan towns, then you can lounge pool side with wine from their vineyard or hike the many trails deep into the hill’s where Montestigliano resides.  Hike down to the village of Stigliano for an aperitif or kick-back with a picnic in their Bocce Ball court (inside the olive groves).  Vacationing at Montestigliano is like a dream come true!

We hosted our wedding ‘week’ at Montestigliano with a group of friends 12 years ago – we took over almost the entire estate.  Unsure of what to expect, we were genuinely blown away as we drove up the winding driveway that is lined by cypress trees.  We were greeted with big hugs from their estate manager, as though we were part of the family, and promptly escorted around the grounds so we could see, in person, exactly where all the events of the week would take place.  Every last detail was thought of as we prepared for our wedding guests to arrive - including flagging down a local Cherry farmer as he was driving to the farmer’s market so that we could buy a carton off the truck because I had wanted them as part of our Italian wedding reception. The villas, the gardens, the olive groves, the people all come together in a peaceful and harmonious way that can only be experienced here.  We had a Bocce Ball tournament and picnic in one of their Olive Groves, we went hiking, they organized a foodie-focused rehearsal dinner at a local castle, we explored Tuscany and returned back to the estate to traditional Tuscan meals.  We recently returned to Montestigliano and were once again greeted like family.  Francesco organized every last detail for us including a private picnic at their Pippistrelli villa and a group pizza dinner for everyone staying at the estate.  He and the Donati family went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed for a week of glorious relaxation with friends. We are working on convincing them to celebrate their 25^th wedding anniversary so we can return in three years.  It’s truly a magical place.
