Item Description
Calling all Pinot Noir lovers - this lot has more hits than the Thriller album! This 1/2 case includes bottles from Santa Barbara, Monterey, Napa and Sonoma Counties. From down south in the Santa Rita Hills, enjoy a 2012 Lincourt, given 91points by Wine Enthusiast, ʺthis Bill Foley wine shows raspberry syrup, cherry jelly, Earl Grey tea and wet slate on the nose. It's very smooth and approachable once sipped, proving quite juicy but with enough chipped graphite and chopped sage to keep it serious.ʺ Also from Santa Barbara County is a 2010 Seaglass that Wine Enthusiast says, ʺis a simple, country-style Pinot Noir, dry and modest in berry fruit.ʺ Pair with earthy mushrooms, grilled salmon or lamb.
Moving north to the Santa Lucia Highlands, enjoy a 93 point 2014 Siduri that Josh Raynolds at Vinous describes as ʺaromas of black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake pick up floral and woodsmoke...juicy red and dark berry and cola flavors.” Also a 92 point 2014 Hahn that Wine Spectator says has a plush texture, ʺwith lots of complex flavors, ranging from plum to anise to dusty, cedary oak. Satisfying from start to finish, ending with dusty, nutmeg-scented tannins.ʺ From further north in Carneros is a 2014 Bouchaine from their Gee Vineyard that the winemaker describes as ʺblackberry and morello cherry aromas explode on the nose, with cigar and 5 spice adding depth and intrigue.ʺ
Finally, from the Russian River Valley a 2012 Marimar Estate, Don Miguel Vineyard that has ʺclassic delicious aromas of Russian River/Green Valley fruit - raspberry and pomegranate - show in the nose, along with sassafras and some roast coffee, following through on the palate. Supple, silky tannins provide a seamless structure, and spicy notes of coriander from the elegant oak add a note of interest. The finish is smooth, round, and perfectly balanced.ʺ
