Item Description

"The Love Boat promises something for everyone Set a course for adventure, Your mind on a new romance... Join Gopher, Julie, Isaac and the gang as we set sail to sample some 90+ reds from around the world.  First is a 2013 Catena Malbec from Argentina.  Wine Advocate gave this bottle 91 points and said, ""the nose is full of violets and black cherries, and is quite perfumed.  The palate has lively acidity that makes it extremely fresh, long, pleasant and easy to dink, and it cleanses your palate with the mineral-driven finish.  A textbook Malbec to buy by the case. Drink or keep.  This has to be one of the best vintages of this popular Malbec."" From the Piedmont region sample a 2013 Solo, an Italian blend from Matteo Correggia.  Next travel to France for a 2015 Tire Bouchon, a Rhone blend from D'Ouréa.  From Burgundy enjoy a 2011 Bouchard Père et Fils Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets - Ancienne Cuvée Carnot.  This bottle is a Wine Enthusiast 94 pointer! Allen Meadows of Burghound says, ""Outstanding!  A discreetly perfumed nose offers up a more elegant mix of red currant, wild dark berries, cassis, spice and stone aromas.  There is excellent richness and first-rate phenolic maturity to the silky-textured middle weight flavors that brim with mouth coating dry extract on the long, serious, balanced and saline-suffused finish.  This is very much built on its minerality and should amply repay longer-term storage.""  Finally a 1995 Chateau Pape Clement Bordeaux Grand Cru de Graves.  Robert Parker gave this bottle 90 points and it should be noted that ""this is one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux.  The vineyards were first planted in the XIIIth century by Bertrand de Goth, the youngest son of a noble family from Bordeaux.  He was elected Pope in 1305, during the reign of Philippe le Bel, and took the name of Clément V. Château Pape Clément belonged to the Archbishop of Bordeaux until the French Revolution.  Wine has been made here continuously for 7 centuries.""
