Item Description
The Class 5 contribution to the GWS 2017 auction is an embroidered wall hanging of The Buddha's Eight Fold Path, based onthe class’s studies of Ancient India and the life of the Buddha.
Students created an image of this “Wheel of Life” in their main lesson books.
The design is a simplified mandala of eight concentric circles, each representing one of the precepts: right thought, right intention, concentration, livelihood, speech, action, effort, mindfulness...
We have chosen a range of indigo blues for the palette. The wall hanging is linen, hand-dyed with indigo and hand-dyed raw silk yarns.
The embroidered linen is stretched and framed in pine. The piece measures 30x30 and is framed simple in pine.
