Item Description
(5) Passes to Rye Airfield. Expires 12/31/17
The most common comment is “WOW”, followed by one of two scenarios, you and your group stand there with your mouth slightly open in awe (don’t worry we still do it too), or you run around so excited you don’t know where to start. If you need to, grab one of us and get oriented, we generally wear red t-shirts or hoodies that say Rye Airfield on the front and Ramp Camp on the back with a big ol’ STAFF across the shoulders.
One of the first things you see when you enter the park is our admissions area about 15′ ahead, just to your right is our First Timers check-in counter. This is where you fill out our waiver if you plan to use the park. In general, if you show up in the half hour window that encompasses the end of a session and the first 15 minutes or so of the next session, there will be a decent size group of people coming and going in the lobby. Once a session starts, this area is pretty much cleared out since most everybody hits the park to ride. If you are just checking the park out and want to get your action sports fix, you don’t need a waiver to hang and watch. We have skate and bike pros that call Rye Airfield home and it is a given that on pretty much anyday one of them will be hanging around. A few of the locals that we have watched grow up before our eyes include Nolan Munroe, Briant Hunt and Aaron Smith. Each of these guys are super rad and always willing to talk.
Walk forward another 10′ and you are in the main lobby area, in front of you is a massive fenced in park full of ramps of all shapes and sizes, we like to say “something for everyone”. Odds are kids on everything from skateboards to bikes and scooters will be ripping around inside, and sometimes outside the park so keep your eyes open and your heads up. The most important ettiquette bit is to treat the park the same way you would when crossing the street “look both ways” before going anywhere. If you want to just spectate, we have a 2nd floor mezzanine area that offers great viewing of the park, along with an enclosed parent’s lounge complete with it’s own bathroom. We do not allow spectators into the ramp area so at this point, if you or your kids want to ride, checkout our Ride section.
