Item Description
Exclusive behind the scenes tour of the new World Trade Center for up to 8 people.
15 years after 9/11, what was once Ground Zero is fast becoming a finished place. Home to some of the tallest skyscrapers in America, an iconic – and complicated – train station, a sacred memorial and museum. The rebuilding of the World Trade Center is the most architecturally, politically, and emotionally complex urban renewal project in American history.
Led by a senior rebuilding official, the tour will begin in the lobby of 7 World Trade Center – the first office building to be rebuilt at the site. Visitors will walk through the 10th floor WTC architecture and design studio to see building models, renderings and animations of the project. They will get an overview of the sustainable design and technology features of the new development as well as the rebirth of the Downtown Manhattan neighborhood.
Visitors will then walk down Greenwich Street and into the brand-new spectacular WTC transportation hub. They will walk through the hub and up into the lobby of the award-winning 4 World Trade Center, visiting the upper floors of the building – which offer spectacular 360 degree views of Manhattan, as well as the 9/11 Memorial Park. Visitors will learn about the complex engineering and architecture challenges that mark this historic project. Then they will be given complimentary tickets to the National 9/11 Museum.
Accompanied by the World Trade Center project’s official photographer, the visitors will be given a photographic record of their visit. The tour will take approx. 90 minutes.
