Trained as a sculptor in Southern California, Kaino has also worked extensively with biologists, robotics specialists, programmers, animators, hackers, cartographers, weavers, Zapatistas, and magicians which helped him forge new relationships between distinct forms of matter and thought.
Recent exhibitions include Focus: Glenn Kaino at the Modern Art Museum Ft. Worth, Texas (2016); Labyrinths at Honor Fraser, Los Angeles, CA (2015); Leviathan at Kavi Gupta CHICAGO | Elizabeth Street, Chicago, IL (2014); The 5x5 Project in Washington DC (2014); Prospect.3: Notes for Now in New Orleans, LA (2014); and GOLD at the Bass Museum, Miami Beach, FL (2014). His work has also been exhibited internationally in various group exhibitions and in 2004 he was included in both the California Biennial at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, CA and the Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY.
Kaino has been the recipient of various fellowships and awards and has held academic appointments at several universities in Southern California. Kaino has also been involved in major music, television, and digital media projects and has created various experimental platforms for the production and dissemination of contemporary art. He was formerly the Chief Creative Officer of Napster and won an Emmy for his work leading the digital media efforts for Oprah Winfrey. He co-produced the hit theatrical production Nothing To Hide at the Geffen Playhouse (2013) with his performance art partner Derek DelGaudio, and the duo are currently working on the follow up show, In & Of Itself, directed by Frank Oz. In 1997, Kaino cofounded Deep River, an artist-run gallery in Los Angeles that was active through 2002, staging the first solo shows with some of Los Angeles’s most important artists. Kaino currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

Items will be shipped via UPS or USPS, and billed at standard industry rates.
