Item Description
Let’s just say it -- the Urban parent body is amazing! Among us there are entrepreneurs, educators, poets, architects and engineers. Lawyers and law officers, doctors, men and women who work at home, and those who are dedicated to being of service to others. We are so fortunate too, to also have artists among our community members. Their work inspires and delights us.
Next fall step inside the artist’s studio of Urban parent Gay Outlaw, who has presented her work in solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Center for Contemporary Art in Sacramento and Mills College Art Museum, among others.
Bid high for this rare opportunity to get into an artist's workspace over a beautifully prepared dinner for 12, complete with artisanal cocktails. She and Stephen Galloway, a fellow Urban parent and artist will discuss their creative process and what inspires them.
While Stephen’s large-format work examines and manipulates our experience of the natural world, Gay believes she is engaged in a process of open-ended experimentation and observation. “I think art is what punctuates that investigation," she said. “When I come to the studio and think, 'I have to make art today,' I tend to be less productive.”
This event will take place on a mutually agreed upon date in October 2017.
