Item Description
The great story behind Amali, a Farm-to-Table Mediterranean restaurant, is how they’ve somewhat quietly managed to become a wine destination on the East Side. Rated as one of Wine Enthusiast’s Top 100 wine restaurants in the country, Amali plays host to a one hour wine class led by owner and sommelier James Mallios, a former stand-up comedian. Eater.com describes James as “bald, brash, and tough—a sort of Greek version of Tony Soprano who looks more likely to kneecap you than pour you a glass of assyrtiko.”
Sample wines and nibble on appetizers in a private room with up to ten people while James delivers his famous class titled, Sommelier Blackjack: How to Count Cards and Beat the House When Buying Wine at a Restaurant. Amali has hosted this class for The New York Times and Fortune 500 companies. Date/time restrictions apply and gratuity not included.
