Where springtime spends the summer!      

The Mount Mitchell Golf Club offers a variety of challenges to the visiting golfer. It features bent grass from tee to green, is virtually flat, has a pristine river flowing through it and awesome views on every shot.

Shoppers will be delighted by the unique local shops in downtown Burnsville. Local craftsmen produce some of the finest glassware, woven goods, wood products and pottery in the country. 

Hiking to waterfalls. Gemstone mining and abundant craft studios and shops, Excellent summer theater schedule at the Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville.

Trail hiking, tennis, gemstone mining and excellent summer stock theatre offers a variety of "things to do."

From early April to mid November our climate is just about ideal. Normal summertime morning temperatures range between 55 and 60 degrees. Daytime temperatures hover around 80. Our spring and fall weather requires a sweater till mid morning. This mild climate produces blooming wild flowers from March to November. It has been said that this is where springtime spends the summer.
