Connie Millard is an Independent College Counselor. She works with a small number of families on the North Shore to inform and help organize the college admissions process. Connie believes in a team approach, engaging both students and parents in a clear step-by-step process that can be both exciting and fun. She helps students frame their college search, beyond the ratings and rankings, to find colleges that are a “good match,” by injecting perspective through personalized student assessment and research. From application to acceptance, Connie works closely with each student to ensure a successful outcome. Services may include: · Working with families early in the student’s high school career to plan a challenging, interesting, and enjoyable high school experience · Developing a customized list of colleges tailored to the student’s academic profile, extracurricular interests, possible majors, personality, and career goals · Reviewing, evaluating, and giving feedback on college application essays and entries in the extracurricular activity section of the Common Application · Planning and coordinating college visits · Coaching and preparing students for college interviews · Helping students choose the best college fit once acceptances are received Connie Millard received her certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. She holds a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Michael’s College where she majored in political science. Prior to discovering her passion for college counseling, Connie had successful careers as both a freelance grant writer and project manager at a Boston-based consulting firm. She is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
