Item Description

Buxton School hosts a variety of summer day programs for children, ages 6-13. These events foster a depth of curiosity, active engagement, hands-on creativity, and group play. All of our day programs are Co-Ed and open to all levels of experience!

 
Playwriting and Performance June 26-30

Ages 6-13

Do you love to write? Do you love to act? If your answer is YES then “PAGE TO STAGE Playwrighting and Performance Camp” is just for you! In the mornings, we’ll play theater games and develop our improv skills. Afternoon is time to roll up our creative sleeves and apply some of the morning’s activities to writing, revising, rehearsing, and, finally, seeing our very own plays come to life. During lunch break, campers will picnic outside and engage in interactive games and activities on Buxton’s magical campus.

A culminating performance will take place Friday, June 30 at 4pm.

 Ceramics & Art Camp  July 10-14
Ages 6-13
 

Come join us for a week of making unique art, getting messy and exploring various ways to express oneself in our popular “Ceramics and Art Camp”! All classes will be structured with ample opportunity to find one’s creative voice while working with fabulous tactile materials! Ceramics will include learning to throw on the wheel, making functional and abstract sculptures with coils and slabs and working with colored slips and glazes. Studio Arts will include making landscape paintings in nature, self-portraits, still-life pictures, drawing, printmaking, collages, and many more crafts. During our lunch break campers will picnic outside and engage in interactive games and activities on Buxton’s magical campus.

A casual culminating art show will take place Friday, July 14 at 4pm.

 The Sound of Summer Music July 24-28
Ages 6-13
 
The “ Sound of Summer Music Camp” will explore a morning session of folk songs, traditional harmony singing and collaborative music making with homemade instruments! For the afternoon session we’ll head over to Margaret Lindley on the Buxton Bus for a picnic lunch and a swimming adventure while we continue our exploration of sound and music. This will be a singing, stomping, swimming, super-sound-week of music camp and not to be missed!

There will be a culminating concert on Friday, July 28th at 4pm.

 

All of our day camps are Co-Ed and open to all levels of experience!
