Three (3) bottles of the last wines to be sold from Wellington Vineyards
Item Special Note
One lucky bidder will receive three of the last wines harvested and bottled by Peter Wellington. One each of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Wellington Vineyards was a 7,000 case winery located on a 24 acre vineyard purchased by John and Peter Wellington in 1986. The vines ranged from seven to 119 years old, and were farmed sustainably: never using any insecticides or synthetic fungicides. Solar cells generated 100% of the winery's electricity. In addition to their award winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel, the winery was well known for their less common wines: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache, Alicante Bouchet, and three Ports-vintage, tawny and white.
After John's death in 2010, Peter began contemplating the selling of the winery. Peter found great buyers in neighboring and beloved fellow vintners, Henry and Vittorio Belmonte of VJB. In 2014, VJB Cellars purchased the tiny Wellington winery - renaming the site to Wellington Cellars. They agreed to let Peter bottle and sell the last of his harvest. These bottles are some of the last from our good friends at Wellington. We personally will miss the customer service, kindess and excellence from the Wellington family and their long employed staff. Enjoy this special wine!
