Fully Catered Authentic Brazilian Dinner for 10
What do you know about Brazil? Oh, yeah, the girl from Ipanema. Frank Sinatra fell in love with her. Maybe Carmen Miranda. Harry Truman fell in love with this one. So, girls, Carnaval, and of course, soccer.
But, no. Brazil is much more than that! The 5th largest country in the world. The diversity of landscapes and ethnicities, from native indigenous Guarani tribes to African Yorubas brought as slaves by Portuguese colonizers. Italians and Germans that escaped famine during the end of 19th century. Then waves of Japanese migration. Brazil has the largest population of Japanese out of Japan. By the way, thee are more Lebanese people in Brazil than in Lebanon.
All these cultures share love for food, and lend particular flavors to Brazilian regions dominated by immigrants, in communion with the core indigenous, African and Portuguese influences.
We will take you to on a virtual trip to Brazil, visiting various regions through food. At each course of this 5-course dinner, we will make sure you listen to the music of regions the foods are from.
We will start with the caipirinha cocktail, famous lime and cachaça blend, with aperitivos (small tapa-style appetizers, such as tremoço seeds and olives) for a Rio de Janeiro experience, or cheese balls (for a historical Minas Gerais colonial trip). Next, we will travel to the Amazon, and taste a cold soup made with Brazil Nuts. For the third course, we will travel to Bahia, and taste the fantastic “Moqueca”, a fish stew with dendê oil and piri piri peppers. This aphrodisiac dish is a perfect blend of African cultures with tropical coconut flavors, served with rice, and will change your life forever.
We will serve a little amusé, a blend of açai sorbet and tropical guavas to clear your palate before a trip to German Italian south states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, to taste a “bife a rolé”. This typical version of stuffed beef, served with polenta, will make your life worthy.
To finish, we will serve “pudim de leite”, a sweet flan of extreme beauty, and passion fruit mousse, which dismisses further explanation. We will end with a “Jenipapo” liquor. From this, straight to Heaven.
The dinner does not include wine or beer but we have pairing suggestions that can be added at your demand and convenience.
Have a nice trip to the Brazilian land of music and food.
