Transform your living room into a 21st century "salon". Imagine the beautiful sounds of flute and violin filling your home as these two seasoned musicians put on a private salon concert for you and your guests.
Flutist Lisa Edelstein and violinist Marcy Vaj will serenade you and your guests in the intimate setting of your home with a series of duets by various composers, including Bach, Mozart, Schubert, and Debussy.
Lisa Edelstein was a Hudson Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, and regularly performs with symphony orchestras in the Los Angeles Area, including the Pasadena Symphony, the Long Beach Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Southwest Chamber Music.
As a busy freelancer, Marcy Vaj has worked on stage and in the studio with virtually everyone in every situation over th past 50 years, from Frank Sinatra and John Denver to Christina Aguilera and Dr. Dre, to the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (founding member).
Marcy has played on hundreds of film scores, and was concertmaster for Sir Paul McCartney at the 2012 Grammys and on his iTunes live webcast. She has soloed in chamber concerts in La Sainte Chappelle, Paris and in London during the celebrations for the 2011 Royal Wedding and 2012 Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
She also has solos on Glenn Frey's (of The Eagles) Oldies CD, Charley Haden's Sophistocated Ladies CD, and the newly released CD by jazz pianist, Kerem Gorsev. As well as writing countless arrangements, Marcy has composed for a poetry album, the award-winning short film "Click Three Times," the documentary "California Women Win the Vote," and the film "Shelby's Vacation," and orchestrated on "Prince of Egypt" and "Antz."
Marcy is currently an adjunct violen/viola professor at Santa Monica College and a 20-year member of CELA (Composers Ensemble LA) a 12-piece group that workshops and performs original pieces written by the members.
Ms. Edelstein and Ms. Vaj will perform a 60 minute recital choosing music from W.F. Bach, Mozart, Kuhlau, Schubert, Debussy, Hindemith, John Steinmetz, Alex Shapiro and Stephen Cohn.
Maximum traveling distance is 40 miles from downtown LA.
