Feel the need for speed while you ride this one-of-a kind, hand painted speed themed bike!

Here’s the story behind the bikes from Rally Cycling Creative Director Sam Wiebe:

"For our donation to the spring auction this year, we wanted a way to truly represent and honor the brave young UHCCF grant recipients our donation is meant to help.

We connected with the families of eight UHCCF grant recipients and asked each kid to share a bit of their story and, most importantly, what they think is cool.

The surveys were awesome. We got fun, unique responses from each kid and we got to work brainstorming ideas about how to distill this colorful information into compelling, cool bicycle art. Our primary goal was to have each kid look at the finished bike, smile, and say, That’s mine!”.

Jacob, 11, of West Virginia inspired Speed. If Jacob had a superpower, he “would want to be really fast, because it would be fun to go fast.” To achieve this sleek, metallic look, first a base-coat of real crushed aluminum is applied. A clear coat and transparent “wash” of color follows to create the anodized midnight blue base. Three primary colors, representing prismatic light, streak across the frame, and the crushed aluminum base shows through in the logo accents, inner stays and fork. Speed is a 56cm frame. The bike will be raced by Adam De Vos of the Rally Cycling team at the 2017 Amgen Tour of California, one of the world’s biggest bike races.

This bike is more than “just” fast, one of eight feather-light carbon fiber race bike donated by Rally Cycling. The bike is truly one-of-a-kind, with a unique, carefully designed paint job that represents the hopes and dreams of Jacob, a UHCCF grant recipient.

Bikes will be drop-shipped directly to the address of your choosing (limited to the continental U.S.). Bikes to leave CA for inspection/cleaning and will be shipped to winners the week of June 1st, 2017.
