Item Description
The winning bidder will receive a piece of artwork entitled "December Swell" created by Pixel on Wood.
This is Black's Beach taken from the Glider Port. I shot this during one of the first big winter swell of 2015. The image was transferred onto recycled wood. Its handmade process gives one of a kind result that makes each piece unique. The size is 16 x 7 1/4 x 0.6".
What is Pixel on Wood? In short, it is the art that I create by transferring my photography onto recycled wood. My name is Vincent Darmohusodo, a local photographer based in Encinitas, CA. As a child growing up in Indonesia, I was always close with the ocean and nature. I now live in Encinitas, CA and my passion with both the ocean and nature continues through surfing and photography. I wish to share some of my favorite photos I have taken the last several years between my hometown of Encinitas and my travel back to my root in Indonesia and a few places in between. I want to share my photography in a different and unique way. While most print their photos on different mediums such as canvas, metal, acrylic, and wood, I do photo transfer on recycled wood. I literally transfer the ink from a paper print to the wood surface. The process is entirely handmade and each item is unique. The result is really rustic and has that vintage look. Using old recycled wood as my medium really adds another layer of character to the finished product.
