Item Description
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LEARNING ABOUT THE BUSINESS/LEGAL ASPECTS OF PRODUCING THEATER? I am offering an introductory private seminar on certain broad legal and business issues involved in producing live commercial theater. I plan to provide a general overview on some or all of the following topics, as time permits: (i) acquiring rights in a property from the authors and/or other rights owners, such as a movie studio or music publishers; (ii) engaging a general manager and developing budgets; (iii) engaging a director, choreographer and other creative team members; (iv) raising money for the project; (v) partnering with co-producers and investors; and (vi) developing the show at a regional or not-for-profit theater. I expect the seminar to run about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. My name is Michael Sinder and I am an entertainment lawyer with a focus in live theater. I have been working in the business for more than 20 years and my clients include Tony Award-winning producers, co-producers, investors, general managers, executive producers, authors, conceivers and creative team members, regional theaters and others. Also, I am a P.S. 9 dad. Michael J. Sinder, Esq.
