Item Description
Looking for a new passion? Have you always wanted to learn to play the piano?
Five (5) one hour private lessons for adult pianists. All levels welcome and encouraged!
Rosemary Caviglia is the founder and director of the Adult Piano School and the creator of Works-In-Progress, West Village Studio and Works-In-Progress, Vermont. She has dedicated the last five years to teaching adult pianists of varied levels and diverse experience. Prior to that, she was piano and chamber music faculty and Piano Department Chair at the Third Street Music School and chamber music faculty at the Chamber Music Center of New York.
"I teach adults exclusively, because I find they are the most rewarding students to teach. They come to music with pure desire, a desire that has stayed with them throughout their lives. Playing music is different than listening to it. When a person plays music on the piano, it is an invitation to touch the sound, and that is what we all crave.
The Adult Piano School was conceived from this point of view. First and foremost, it is about the experience of making music, and all of us have the potential to do that. There is no formal requirement, no prior qualification needed. Music is in all of us."
