Title: Sail Away
Artist Inspiration: Winslow Homer, 1836-1910, American
Description: Ms. Bulisache’s 4th Grade Class Art Project was inspired by the artist Winslow Homer (1836-1910). Homer was an American painter who lived in the New England area for most of his life. His work on marine subjects is considered to be among the most powerful and expressive of late 19th-century art. Ms. Bulisache’s students drew inspiration from Winslow Homer’s subject matter and constructed a sailboat made of driftwood and canvas, which was painted by the students using a thumbprint technique.
Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas, wooden dowel, driftwood
Dimensions: 38”x44”
*A special 'thanks' to Betsy Boddicker and Tara Stealey for their help on this project.
