Item Description
Description:
from original linocut designed and carved by hand. A linocut print is made by:
first, hand-carving a design into linoleum mounted on a block of wood;
second, inking the block; and finally, pressing the block onto a printable
surface.
About the artist:
As a professional, Derrick works on environmental clean up projects because
caring for the environment is one of his greatest passions. As an artist, he
empathizes with elephants because he too has big ears and eats a plant-based
diet. His favorite elephant fact is that elephants wear sunscreen. His interest in
printmaking began when he attended a printmaking street fair and he joined the
kids at the linocut activity booth. He enjoys print making because he sees it as an
art form that is social and easy to share with friends. He is also a singer,
songwriter, and aspiring fashion designer.”
Item Special Note
