Item Description
Expect the unexpected as two of you journey downtown to see a new theatrical experience co-conceived by Sheila Callaghan and Daniella Topol: (Not) Water. This immersive production is brought to you by one of the city’s most adventurous theatre companies, New Georges, as part of their Works on Water triennial at the 3LD Art & Technology Center in Lower Manhattan. After you emerge, you may long for the comfort of the tried and true, so you will also enjoy a casual dinner for two at what has quickly become a NYC institution: Shake Shack!
(NOT) WATER is an epic exploration of the authors’ epic exploration of an element so epic it’s taken ten years to explore. We’re talking about…water. The play is a part of Works on Water, a boundary-crossing thought hub for 26 days of art and theater in which a diverse cohort of artists, scientists, water advocates, and audiences come together for wide-ranging conversation about the relationship between people and water on an individual, community, and humanitarian scale. It is produced by New Georges whose mission is to launch and sustain artists (who are women) of assertive imagination – individually, as collaborators, and as a community – and advance their exuberantly theatrical new plays.
