Item Description
Artist(s): Lawrence Sullivan.
The sculpture was manufactured under the authority of and the casting from the official CowParade company. The unpainted sculpture was purchased from Connecticut based Cow Parade Holdings in Connecticut by the California Milk Producers Board in collaboration with the Got Milk? brand. CPMB/Got Milk? commissioned California artists to interpret a theme giving tribute to the heritage and icons of California.
After a brief exhibition in November 2015 to promote the health benefits of fluid milk especially for children, this unique hand painted sculpture was gifted to Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California supporting families and serving children being treated for cancer since 1982. More information about Camp and their essential programs can be found at: http://rmhcsc.org/camp
The cow has received five layers of protective coating according to the standards set for public display by the Cow Parade Company. The painted/decorated sculpture is a hand created artwork and has unique features and finish as you would expect for original art for public display.
NOTE: other than the blank sculpture having been manufactured by and acquired from the CowParade company there is no relationship between Californias, Cowabunga! project and the CowParade company or any CowParade events.
