Artist Inspiration:

Jamie’s brother used to have a cat called Baby Kitty; she was the toughest cat she had ever known. She could seem so cold and stand offish but there was a sweet, loveable side underneath.

Artist Bio:

Jamie Fritz was born in Oklahoma and raised in Northern Wyoming. She developed a love of art while attending the University of Wyoming, where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2009. After going on to receive her Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of Nebraska in 2012, she fell in love with Colorado and relocated to pursue her post-graduate career.

Most of Fritz’s work is primarily 3-dimensional, and she prefers to work with a variety of materials including paper, fabric, metal and wood. Found objects and old photographs hold a specific interest for her, and they can be found in much of her current work. Her most recent exhibition was an Alumni retrospective in Lincoln, Nebraska earlier this year.

In addition to a love for art, Fritz has always had a strong love and passion for animals, specifically cats. She currently resides in Centennial with her two cats Charlie and Bella- both of whom have a tendency to keep her on her toes (in the best way possible).

Online Bidding:

We are offering online bidding for the Painted Cats, Flat Cats, Clay Cats and the Paper Cats from May 13th through September 13th.  Online bidding will close on September 13th.

Bidding will resume at the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Pinehurst Country Club from 5-8pm.

Please note: If you are unable to attend the Gala Dinner be sure to set your maximum bid online by September 13th and we will serve as your proxy bidder during the event.

Winning bidders are responsible for all shipping costs.

The Painted Cat will be shipped through UPS. Delivery signature and insurance will be required. The cost for insurance will be based on the winning bid amount.

All cats will be available for pick up at the Gala Dinner & Auction on September 16, 2017. Cats that need to be shipped will be shipped on September 18, 2017.
