We are excited to feature the artwork of Ginger Sandell!
Ginger began and has painted for many years as a self-taught artist but will be graduating next year from the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a Masters of Fine Arts. She has worked with pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, water color, pastel, sanguine, acrylic, and oils but especially enjoys painting the beautiful seascapes and landscapes where she lives on Hawaii Island. Ginger has work displayed in several galleries in Hawaii and has exhibited in New York, California, and Florida. Her paintings are collected by people all over the country. Ginger paints in an expressionist, impressionist style where line, color, and form may vary from the more realistic portrayal of the world. She hopes that the visual image will connect with people emotionally and her collectors have told her that her art is “other worldly”. Her paintings often have a sense of tranquility; however, there are others that show darker emotion. Painting is her meditation; she often loses track of time and she believes that it brings her in contact with her Higher Power. Art and creativity are both a tactile and spiritual experience for Ginger.
This fabulous nightstand/sidetable was painted exclusively for this auction and is a one-of-a-kind piece. Ginger's interest in abstract landscapes is hinted at with the depiction of the palm trees on it. It is signed by Ginger and measures 29" tall, 13" wide and 12" deep.
