Item Description
Title & Artist: "Like Water" – by Chris Clark
Medium & Size: Carved plywood, dyes, and matt medium. 21 7/8" L x 8 5/8" H x 3/4" D. For indoor display only.
Artist Statement: Overfishing, habitat degradation, climate change. The cod has endured difficult decades and faces an uncertain future. Will this and many other species fade into the elements from which they were born? "Like Water" deconstructs the medium of common plywood to evoke the water in which the cod survives and dies.
Artist Biography: Chris is a husband, a father, and, during the day, a creative director. Not being a trained artist, he finds that every project like this becomes a learning experience and a test of imagination and materials. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Hosting Business: "Like Water" is on display at Marblehead Outfitters, 112 Washington St., Marblehead, MA.
