Cryotherapy reduces inflammation, repairs muscles and joints, aids in athletic recovery and provides a large boost in energy and metabolism. Choose from the following Cryotherapy Treatments: Whole Body Cryotherapy, Local Cryotherapy (focused treatment if you have a specific area of injury) or CryoFacial.
Whole Body Cryotherpay -
During Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) the body is exposed to ultra-low temperatures, triggering a systemic anti-inflammatory response. The client is placed in the Whole Body Cryosauna for a short duration of 1.5-3 minutes which lowers the client’s skin surface temperature significantly and stimulates receptors without damaging any tissue. Using liquid nitrogen (which turns to gas once it hits the air), the Cryosauna is cooled to temperatures between −110°C and −150°C (−166°F to −238°F). The patient is given socks, gloves and slippers to wear in the Cryosauna to prevent frostbite on smaller extremities. Clothing worn during the treatment is minimal: for women clothing is optional while for men genitals have to be covered with cotton underwear. The patient’s skin temperature drops between 10°C (50°F) and 5°C (41°F). While the patient’s external temperature drops significantly, the patient’s internal core temperature will remain the same.
Whole Body Cryotherapy was first utilized in Japan in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Studies conducted over the last two decades have established WBC as a powerful treatment for inflammatory disorders, injuries, and muscle and joint pain. WBC can also be used to treat conditions such as fibromyalgia and rheumatism. The immediate release of endorphins can help with insomnia, fighting depressing and decreasing psychological stress. Local Cryotherapy -
Local Cryotherapy treatments are used to reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling in targeted areas. Unlike Whole Body Cryotherapy, which triggers an internal systemic anti-inflammatory response in the body, local cryotherapy is comparable to “icing”, although much more powerful and efficient based on our experience.
Clients frequently combine this treatment with Whole Body Cryotherapy, to treat problem areas both from the “inside out” as well as from the “outside in”. As temperatures as low as -240 degrees F can be reached by our devices, a local area treatment only needs to be conducted for about 5-8 minutes, with a benefit exceeding that of hours of icing.
CryoFacial -
The CryoFacial™ is a Cryogenic treatment, in which a controlled beam of vaporized liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the skin of the face, scalp, and neck area. The CryoFacial™ is truly one of a kind. The cold nitrogen produces an instantaneous tightness in the skin, filling in fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen is activated to produce more cells, causing skin to become more elastic over repeated use.
Additionally, skin’s pore size is reduced, keeping toxins, dirt and grime out. The CryoFacial™ flushes away built up toxins in the skin and sooths inflammation, eliminating dreaded puffiness.
