Item Description

“It was pleasant to wake up in Florence, to open the eyes upon a bright bare room...to fling wide the windows...to lean out into sunshine with beautiful hills and trees and marble churches opposite, and, close below, Arno, gurgling against the embankment of the road.” âÂÂÂ?ÂÂÂ? E.M. Forster, A Room with a View

Whether your pleasant day leads you down cobblestone streets, to Michelangelo's David, or to a welcoming trattoria for the world's best gelato, enjoy it like a local in this perfect, homey apartment on a quiet street in the Oltarno district of Florence.

NOTE: Because our donor shares her home with others so generously, plan your trip several months in advance to make sure it is available.

AVAILABLE TO ARTS & LETTERS COMMUNITY ONLY.

A NOTE FROM PATSY, AN ARTS & LETTERS GRANDMA, WHO SHARES HER HOME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHEN SHE IS AWAY

"This apartment is my home, not an AirBnB. I invite my friends to use it when I am not there. Please leave at least some of the scotch. It was once part of the convent of the Carmine church where the Masaccios are and has been recently renovated. My bed is large and comfortable and the bed in my study is a pull-out from IKEA. Unlike many streets in Florence via della Chiesa is quiet. You should sleep OK."

Item Special Note

The apartment is generally available mid-November through late December, and June-August.
