Item Description
Title & Artist: "Fairy Fish" – by Marjorie E. Slattery
Medium & Size: Fabric, white paint, sequins, glitter, and glue on wood. 21 7/8" L x 8 5/8" H x 3/4" D. For indoor display only.
Artist Statement: To me the Arts Festival is magical, for when someone creates a piece from the heart, people are amazed by these works of art.
Artist Biography: Born and raised in Marblehead, I have a BFA in Fashion Design from Massachusetts College of Art. I've been a pattern maker, made sails in a sail loft, sewn wedding gowns, taught quilting for seven years, and made costumes for Marblehead High School and Marblehead Little Theatre plays. Then I reintroduced Gram's canvas ditty bags, which I make on request. I am always sewing and creating.
Hosting Business: "Fairy Fish" is on display at Abbot Public Library, 235 Pleasant St., Marblehead, MA. On July 1, this cod will be moved to the Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford St., Marblehead, MA.
