Item Description
This beautiful lampshade is an original, functional art piece designed, hand painted, crafted, and signed by a native Rhode Island artist. Two sides display sunset at the Castle Hill Lighthouse while a yacht race is in process on the other two sides. This delightful shade is beautiful during the day and, when the lamp is illuminated, takes on an entirely new dimension. A perfect lamp to go with this shade is about 20 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and not too fancy – after all, this shade is going to “steal the show”! The lampshade is composed of two layers of fabric (black outline and hand-painted white muslin) with rolled edges over an industry-standard frame and backing with finished interior seams. The shade measures top-6”, bottom-10”, and height 10”. It has a washer top to use with a harp and finial.
Item Special Note
The Castle Hill Lighthouse, depicted on this unique lampshade, is built right into a cliff and appears to be a natural feature of the landscape. It is an important aid to navigation and is frequently used as a start and end point for yacht races taking place in Newport, RI.
