A Bit About Book I, "The Shopkeeper" and it just keeps getting better with each volume:

"In 1879, Steve Dancy sells his New York shop and ventures west to explore and write a journal about his adventures. Though he's not looking for trouble, Dancy's infatuation with another man's wife soon embroils him in a deadly feud with Sean Washburn, a Nevada silver baron. Infuriated by the outrages of two hired thugs, the shopkeeper kills both men in an impulsive street fight. Dancy believes this barbarian act has closed the episode. He is wrong. He has interfered with Washburn's ambitions, and this is something the mining tycoon will not allow. Pinkertons, hired assassins, and aggrieved bystanders escalate the feud until it pulls in all the moneyed interests and power brokers in Nevada. Can the former city slicker settle accounts without losing his life in the process?"

REVIEWS:

Another great book!,  April 29, 2017
This review is from: Crossing the Animas (Steve Dancy Tales Book 6)
"Best is a great author. This is a great Western. Steve Dancy does not disappoint nor does Best. I highly recommend this book!"

Another terrific Steve Dancy tale,  May 25, 2017

This review is from: Crossing the Animas (Steve Dancy Tales Book 6) (Kindle Edition)
"Just a good old fashioned Western yarn by a really good Western author. Lots of humor and plenty of action. More than enough bad guys to go around. Book 6 in the series and I hope it isn't the end of the trail for Steve Dancy and his friends. If you haven't read #1 yet, the title is a bit misleading. Dancy was no ordinary greenhorn shop keeper."

Horses, Trains, Mining & Women,  May 30, 2017

This review is from: Crossing the Animas (Steve Dancy Tales Book 6) (Kindle Edition)
"Steve Dancy and his buddies Jeff and Joseph are at it again. This new tale of their continuing adventures does not disappoint. It includes horses, trains, electricity, mining, romance, good guys, bad guys, coffee, whiskey, and even a fair amount of romance. Of course, there is the requisite gun play too. The story reads well and gives the reader a picture of how it might have been in Durango and Silverton Colorado back in the day when the narrowgage railway was under construction. Definitely a recommended read, and better if you already know the characters from the previous books."
