Glass-on-Glass Mosaic - 19 H x 32 W inches
I am a retired occupational therapist. Whenever appropriate, I utilized art in my treatment of patients with various diagnosis. Having taught adults interested in pursuing the technical level (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) several who arrived with a strong interest in art. Currently, I am the “Artist-in-Residence” at a small private elementary school in Niles, Michigan. I have also been active as an actor and director in various community theatres.
My interest in glass mosaics began approximately seven years ago. Since then I have worked with different artists and have taken courses at the Chicago School of Mosaics. The glass has captured my heart and soul! It is so often breath-takingly beautiful. In all my work I have tried to demonstrate the versatility of the natural beauty of glass.
I had a one-woman show at the Buchanan Art Center and several other venues. My work has consisted of both designs on solid surfaces, i.e. cement, walls, large boards, as well as my more favorite media: glass-on-glass.
