We are so happy to be able to highlight a sidetable by Richard Rochkovsky! Richards artwork can be seen at Third Dimension Gallery at the Shops at Mauna Lani.

Richard's earliest painting memories “are from painting with my Dad on the beach, feeling the sun on my face, the wind in my, at that time, blond hair, and the sand under my feet - the ocean was there to wash off the inevitable mess. I haven’t outgrown any of it, including the mess.” In college he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and credits for a Minor in Art from the University of Virginia in 1972. From Richard: “Many people find Hawaii to be a peaceful and restful place, while I find painting here to be loaded with energy and excitement. My paintings are filled with adjacent complimentary colors and warm shadow work that reflect the vibrancy of the scene and the excitement of the moment.”

This fabulous sidetable showcases Richard's "vibrancy of the scene" with a colorful, tropical scene. Richard also pointed out how the inside of the shelves are a continuation of the horizon, that flows from one side onto the other. This art was painted exclusively for this auction and is a one-of-a-kind piece. It measures 32"tall x 16"wide x 11.5"deep.

Proceeds benefit Kona Historical Society, a 501c3 nonprofit. Winning bidder is responsible for Hawai`i State tax (4.166%). Due to the size and/or weight of this object, it is only available locally for pickup at KHS’ offices in Kealakekua. As with all auctions, item is sold “as is” with no refunds available.
