Item Description

Feature this beautiful rosemaled plate in your home and share a piece of Scandinavian history with your house guests. This round wall hanging is painted by award-winning rosemaling artist Mary Schliep. About 15 inches in diameter.

Painted in reds, blues, green, and white, this rosemaled platter is a beautiful example of a traditional art form native to Scandinavia.

Mary Schliep started rosemaling in 1989 and has been busily painting ever since. Mary specializes in the Valdres and Telemark styles (each defined by the geographic region where they found their beginning in Scandinavia). Mary has been a consistent teacher at North House ever since the school's first catalog.  She demonstrates the traditions of rosemaling annually at Norsk Hostfest, North America's largest gathering of Scandinavian heritage enthusiasts.
