One of a kind fashion, straight off of Alternative Fashion Mob's runway.
As part of our 2017 runway show, we asked our local fashion designers to create white dresses and then handed the dresses off to local artists to use as the canvas for their art.
The result was a collaborative fashion collection that rocked our runway!
Designer: Janus Koziuk of Glamazon Jayne
"Just gave up my studio space and sewing for a living for the past 20 years for a 9-5 cubicle and health insurance. Full-time Mom for three kids. Still reaching for creative expression and insatiable thirst for fashion. Also, I turn 40 this spring. Life is weird."
Janus has shown twice with AFM, 2014 in a mini collection and 2016 in a full collection. She has also shown with Raw, Rife Gallery and BlockFort in 2017 Art Exhibitions.
Artist: Daniel Gerdeman
The inspiration for the dress is a strong opposition to male objectification of women. It's symbolic for the strength and guts of women in my life. The black white and red are a simple in your face scheme that owes a nod to revolt, graffiti, punk rock, and protest. Media used includes acrylic and spray paint. Dan Gerdeman is an artist and art educator. His art is in collections around the U.S. and he has art children around the world.
