Item Description
"How Sweet It Is" depicts a hummingbird in flight about to feed from the flower of a Red Bud tree. This signed, limited-edition giclee watercolor painting is printed on watercolor archival paper and was created in 2017 by Nancy Sewell of Palos Verdes Estates, California.
Said Nancy, "When my husband was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, I wanted to creat a painting that celebrates how sweet and precious life is, and donate all proceeds from the sale of this painting and the limited-edition giclee prints to cancer research. I chose to paint hummingbirds because they symbolize endurance to achieve our goals in life. The journey to fight cancer may take us to places that require strength, perseverance and courage. The hummingbird is a guide to help us avoid obstacles and say 'Yes, I can do it.' The Red Bud tree is another symbol of renewal and life. Each spring after a cold and rainy winter, the Red Bud tree sprouts beautiful purple flowers that promise the future green leaves and foliage of life."
This painting is framed in gold leaf. It measures 26x30 inches framed.
Item Special Note
All proceeds from sale of this painting will be donated to benefit Ethan & Choco’s Book Club and the fight against childhood cancer.
