Through a generous donation from the Gibson Foundation, The San Diego Museum of Art shares for the first time The Shepherdess Gibson Les Paul. Infused with the artistic vision of Chor Boogie, a critically acclaimed spray paint artist, and the spirit of The San Diego Museum of Art, this guitar exemplifies what it means to bring fine art and music together. Artistically charged with the vision of The San Diego Museum of Art, this treasure of rock n roll will be auctioned off for the holiday season.
Your donation will support the mission of the Museum which is to “inspire, educate, and cultivate curiosity through great works of art.” Our events and programs are far-reaching and include arts education for more than 50,000 students in underserved communities throughout San Diego.
The winner of the auction will also receive a Dual Membership to The San Diego Museum of Art.
Please note that the Museum will add 7.75% sales tax to the transaction. Pick up of this item at The San Diego Museum of Art is preferred or this item can be shipped within the continental U.S.
Guitar Case Artist's Bio
Chor Boogie, a.k.a. Joaquin Lamar Hailey, is a critically acclaimed spray paint artist. He was recently honored by Société Perrier as being number three among the Top Ten U.S. Street Artists. His visionary murals and art exhibitions have appeared all over the globe including venues such as the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Smithsonian, Museum of Public Arts in Baton Rouge, Museum of Art Puerto Rico, the LA Art Fair, Torrance Art Museum in Los Angeles, Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, Museum of Man in San Diego, San Diego Museum of Art, Children’s Museum in San Diego, Syracuse University Museum, and the Vision Arts Festival in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
