Go Off the Beaten Path in Emilia-Romagna and Veneto, Italy (Europe) for Seven Days & Six Nights for Two, Including a Wine Tasting in a Castle, Lunch in San Marino, a Cheese Tasting, and First Class Train Transportation Between Milan and Bologna (Land Only)

Explore the Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions of Italy for the trip of a lifetime! From medieval villages to fascinating museums, seaside resorts to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, castles to the Grand Canal, you'll discover gorgeous architecture, magnificent mosaics, and fascinating relics of antiquity. So admire the landscape, enter fortified city walls, stroll through charming towns, and experience these soul-satisfying regions and their treasure troves of history!

The Palazzo Viviani in Montegridolfo lies in the green hills of Valconca valley, which descends towards the Adriatic Sea. Surrounded by a beautiful garden, is a panoramic view over a countryside with abandoned fortresses, towers, ancient churches and a small historical site. In Montagnana, the Relais Castello Bevilacqua is an authentic 14th-century castle located in the Veneto.

Your stay will take you all over Emilia-Romagna, and your first full day entails lunch and a visit to the country of San Marino, the world's oldest surviving sovereign state and its oldest republic (since AD 301). From there you will take a short drive to one of the best Italian medieval villages, Gradara. Mondaino, thought to have grown from a Roman settlement dedicated to the Goddess of the Forests, Diana, is home to Rocca Maletestiana, Piazza Maggiore, Palaentological Museum and numerous world-famous festivals year-round. Tour and savor the taste of the famous Italian cheese Pecorino di Fossa. The following day you will visit Urbino, a splendid university town, and Pesaro, a popular traditional seaside resort for the locals.

Continue in Veneto with a visit to Ravenna, a center for intricate mosaic work. Before your first night in Montagnana, you'll visit Mirabilandia, one of Italy's largest amusement parks that features stunning sights, five themed lands, dozens of attractions, fantastic shows and special events! The following day you will explore the village of Montagnana, which is surrounded by the best preserved medieval walls in all of Europe. Explore the castle of San Zeno, the Rocca degli Alberi castle, the religiously significant Gothic cathedral of Montagnana, and delight in a wine tasting at Relais Castello Bevilacqua. Padua's biggest tourist attractions are the Scrovegni Chapel, with its frescoes by Giotto, and the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua. A visit to the small commune of Arqua Petrarca, introduces you to the famous poet Francesco Petrarca and the town's famous olive oil, olives, chestnuts and honey. Perhaps the crown jewel of your trip will be your final visit in Venice, where you can take a gondola ride back in time!
