What is the second Happiest Place on Earth? Why, it's San Jose’s Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, a place that’s been a part of Bay Area families since it opened its gates in 1961. There you’ll find an accredited zoo with over 140 animals from endangered Lemurs to miniature horses, year round classes for ages 12 months to adults, family rides, a puppet theater, and special events for all seasons. And it’s “green” - as in the use of hay bale construction, radiant flooring for cooling and heating, green growing roofs with native plants, and the use of sustainable materials throughout. Challenge your kids to find as many Green Leaf signs throughout Happy Hollow for helpful green tips for you and your family.
