Item Description

This item has GENEROUSLY been offered to us to share again in the 2017 auction from our previous winning bidder... Many thanks as this was one of our top selling items in 2016!

Beautiful handmade mosiac, measuring 8'' by 10'' donated by talented artist, Loran White!

Notes from the Artist: Each one takes about a month.  I work on them in winter.   I use only natural elements.  The labyrinth has inspired me for many years.

This process to make them began after I took a meditative mosaic class on retreat at the abbey of st walburga in Colorado.  I also teach a class for community Ed in South Dakota. I make hand labyrinths, heart labyrinths and 3, 5, 7 and 11 circuit labyrinths.

I try to use something broken in each piece, in this piece it is the background of broken sea shells.  I also try to use something organic from a sacred place.  The Black Hills of South Dakota, where I live, are very sacred to the Native People who include the great plains tribes.  The path is made from crushed granite found here.
