The Tall Tale is a small shop located in Minnesota on the shore of Lake Superior. It's been in existence for about 35 years. Owner Mary Jane Huggins has been involved since her mother handed down the business. Originally, primarily a yarn shop (a "tall tale" being a yarn) Mary Jane has also worked in basketry for over 20 years. Her time is equally divided between knitting and basketry. In addition, a love of beads is satisfied by incorporating them into baskets and knitted kits. Lake Superior is her inspiration and she often incorporates rocks, sea glass, and driftwood into her work.
Item Special Note
Winner receives certificate toward participation in a group Tall Tale Tote basketry class. Winner may directly pay an additional $70 for a one-on-one course.
