Item Description
Vase by Sue Anne Holmes, an accomplished local ceramicist, this is a hand thrown piece. The artist uses two glazes and fires at 2200 degrees.
Measures 11" x 4.75" in diameter
Sue Holmes began pottery classes in 1968 at the State University at Albany. It was an immediate connection that lasted until retirement in 2013. Ms. Holmes started experimenting with clay on the potters wheel. Then hand building became her favorite method. She taught many classes starting with the Art Farm and then maintained a private studio throughout marriage and the birth of three sons.
Ms. Holmes was visiting artist at Hartwick College exhibited in the WSKG Art Auction, a member of the SmithyPioneer and Cooperstown At Association. she also sold work through the Carrie Haddad Gallery and Lilli and Loo in Hudson, New York.
Ms. Holmes resides in Cooperstown, New York and now is exploring the medium of oil painting.
