From Anthony to Benedicte, five generations have inspired the spirit of the Hardy family business. Since 1863, the Hardy rooster has been a permanent fixture in the world of elite Cognacs, synonymous with the company’s bold, resolute “Haute Couture” style.

It was in 1863 that Anthony Hardy, a London gentleman, settled in Cognac and established himself in the business of high-quality wines and spirits. Five generations later, Hardy Cognac is known for its character and for the skills of its cellar masters, custodians of a heritage handed down forever.

As a mark of his great affection for France and the French, Anthony went so far as to adopt the Gallic form of his Christian name, henceforth being known as Antoine Hardy. He also adopted the iconic French cockerel as the emblem of his new company. Antoine Hardy’s hard work, and the quality of the results, earned him respect and admiration in the Cognac region.

In 1869 his Cognac Fine Champagne was awarded the Diploma of Excellence at the Amsterdam exhibition, richly-deserved recognition of his commitment and passion for the ‘nectar of the gods’. In 1891 the St. Petersburg Exhibition awarded the prestigious gold medal to Hardy’s ‘Cognac de l’Alliance’.

Bénédicte Hardy represents the fifth generation of Hardy Cognac makers. As Maison Hardy’s international ambassador, she has worked to build the company’s reputation in the USA.

You will receive three bottles of Hardy Cognac, each bottle signed by Benedicte Hardy.

Hardy Noces de Diamant “Diamond Anniversary” 60 year old Grande Champagne Cognac:  A great and complex Cognac, typical of the French 'rancio' (slow maturation of tannins). Dominating in the mouth but without excess, with spicy bitter orange notes and a high light ginger hint. Its length transports you into a world of hot and powerful spices, in which you can also identify saffron and old leather. Very velvety smooth with apricot, almond, prune and leather. Widely regarded as the best post-phylloxera cognac available. Appellation Grande Champagne.

Hardy Noces d’Or Sublime “Golden Anniversary” 50 year old Grande Champagne Cognac:  Noces d’Or is a floral cognac with notes of budding lilac. Its nose is well balanced and surprisingly pure. A lively alcohol onset gives freshness to its subtle taste of candied cherries. A wonderfully balanced cognac with fruity, flowery and very slightly woody notes. Seductive. An award-winning blend of 40 different Grande Champagne Cognacs, Noces d’Or is deep orange with a copper cast. Moderately fully-bodied, it contains inviting rich, fat aromas that reveal a silky, honeyed character with elegant wood and spiced flavors lingering on the finish. A richly textured but gracefully proportioned style. Aged a minimum of 50 years. Appellation Grande Champagne.

Hardy Legend 1863 Cognac: Legend 1863 is a tribute to the Cognac's world and to the Hardy family. Citrus and coffee cappuccino with vanilla hints on palate with a beautiful long finish. The unique bottle features the rooster, the symbol of France and the Hardy Family, signifying honesty and courage. It is the perfect blend, a harmonious selection of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne district with a touch of Borderies for elegance... artfully blended in four steps. Hardy Legend is skillfully aged up to 12 years in Limousin Oak barrels that have been slowly and deeply toasted. It is a true representation of the Hardy Style - rich, bright bronze color. Delicate fragrance of rose petal and dates. Abundant, soft and perfectly balanced flavors of cappuccino, and an elegant, smooth and long finish.
