Item Description

Monoprint

27.75" x 27.25" x 1"

Alice Merlone studied printmaking at Creative Arts Workshop & SCSU in New Haven, CT and SMFA Boston. 2017 Juried shows include NH Paint & Clay Club, Attleboro Arts Museum’s National LINE exhibition, and the upcoming Blanche Ames Mansion Exhibition, Easton, MA.  She is a member of Full Tilt Print Studio, Hyde Park, MA; New Haven Paint & Clay Club; Hamden Art League; New Haven Arts Council and the Monotype Guild of NE.

Alice has been developing and evolving her “Contemplation Series” for more than 15 years, exploring color and design using a circle-within-a-square format.  “Contemplation II, Series VI” is the second in a six-image series.  These images vary in design, as well as with the outer square color selection—red, blue, or green.  These monoprints are complex and employ a variety of printing techniques requiring many passes through the printing press.

The artist has graciously agreed to start the bidding at $200
