Item Description

Acrylic on paper

21.5" x 17.5" x 1"

Paulette Miller holds a MA from the University of Rhode Island. She continues her arts education through workshops, private instruction, museum visits, and online courses. While sharing her time as a published author, musician, and business consultant, she recently exhibited her paintings at the Warwick Center for the Arts, RI Watercolor Society, and South County Art Association.

“Sailors’ Delight” was created by the artist in 2015 while enjoying the summer coastline of Rhode Island. The artist was inspired by RI’s fishing industry and the sailors who pursue their harvest – often under the threat of storm and other dangers. The lifting fogs and crimson night skies provide real and symbolic relief to the sailors – and inspiration to the painter.
