Item Description
If you've ever stepped into Sivertson Gallery in Grand Marais, the Trapper's Daughter Series has probably captured your imagination. With over a dozen prints as part of his collection, artist Rick Allen drops his audience into whimsical and iconic moments of the Northern life.
"The Trapper's Daughter & the Driftwood Fire" casts our heroine on the sandy shores of a superior lake with two of her dearest friends. Curled up in the thoughts we all share amidst the light of a campfire, her peaceful pose says it all.
Sivertson Gallery is a destination for art on the North Shore of Lake Superior, exhibiting the work of over 60 regional artists in addition to Canadian Inuit and Alaskan native art, Canadian First Nation and Native American art. Exhibiting artwork that reflects the character of Lake Superior remains the gallery's dominant focus. This includes depicting the lake's beauty and depth, its surrounding environment and its history and people. Including art from the more remote northern regions of Alaska and Arctic Canada brings an adventurous and independent flavor to the gallery.
