Item Description

Oil on canvas

18" x 22" x 2"

Ann Daum is an artist member of the Providence Art Club and her work appears in member shows and was recently exhibited in juried shows at the Pawtucket Art Collaborative and Wickford Art Association.  Many of her works depict scenes of Maine which was her summer home for several years.

The painting is a scene of Stonington Maine which is on Deer Isle, a fishing village and summer retreat for visitors.  Ann wanted to depict the bleakness of the scene and the strong contrasts that exist in the grey of the sky and water with the starkness of the houses which overlook the scene below.
