Mary Nash is an internationally exhibited artist, who has a B.A. from George Washington University and an M.F.A. from Washington State University. Nash's art has been shown in over 100 exhibitions including 60 art museum exhibits. Nash is the recipient of numerous awards including a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, Purchase Awards, Public Art Commissions, Gubernatorial Citations as well as many others.

Calaveras Necklace is the first piece of jewelry to be designed and assembled by Mary Nash, who makes paintings, 3D objects and ink drawings. Nash, however, is no stranger to beads since she has also created an artist's environment entitled "Center of the Universe and Bead-O-Rama," which consists of assemblages made with thousands of beads, buttons and bottle caps.  Nash has also provided a Lane cedar box to contain her necklace.
