Linda DiFrenna is an interdisciplinary artist working with mixed-media including painting, photography and 3D constructions. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions throughout New England, including Gallery Z, Bromfield Gallery, Danforth Museum of Art, The Art League of RI, Mystic Museum of Art, Fuller Craft Museum and the AAM. Linda received an M.A.E. from RISD and has taught art classes for 15 years at the RISD Museum of Art and 6 years at the Community College of RI.
“Pantheon, Rome” is a color photograph with oil paint. The artist experiments with photography by manipulating it with various media such as oil paint, spray paint, ink, marker, and charcoal. It is a challenge not to lose the image and the meaning of the piece behind the paint or mixed-media. Linda feels the various and interesting effects that can result engage the viewer to stop and look more closely at the work. The process is as important as the concept. She grants herself the freedom to move between the traditional image, processes and materials.
